Why is Failure important?

“Failure is important for success”

a generalized popular belief, far easier preached than endured,

Far more facile to say than to live through,

only those who persevere through the ordeal

can speak of its truth.

In a world where one is merely reduced to a score

a reality hard to fathom at a young core.

The disparaging voices around grow loud with daunt,

while the mind slowly succumbs to a persistent haunt.

The will to rise burns bright within it all,

yet fear still whispers of an inevitable fall.

For the winner takes the world

-triumph crowns a few, claiming it all,

and failure lingers, echoing where I might fall,where I might fall.
