Recently, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, celebrated the vibrant festival of Baisakhi, with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour. Specially organised for students from nursery to Class II, the event aimed to introduce young learners to the rich traditions and significance of this harvest festival, fostering an early appreciation for India’s cultural heritage.
The celebration commenced with a brief introduction highlighting Baisakhi as a festival symbolising prosperity, gratitude, and joy. The informative address set the tone for the festivities, helping students understand the importance of the occasion in a simple and engaging manner. The young participants then showcased their talents through a series of delightful performances, filling the atmosphere with energy and festive spirit.
The programme featured lively Punjabi folk songs that resonated across the campus, creating an ambiance of celebration. Dressed in colourful traditional attire, the children added vibrancy and charm to the occasion.



The highlight of the event was the energetic dance performances, where the tiny tots presented bhangra and gidda with remarkable confidence and enthusiasm. Their expressive gestures, rhythmic coordination, and radiant smiles captivated the audience and beautifully reflected the essence of Baisakhi.
Adding depth to the celebration, a few students delivered short speeches on the significance of the festival. Their confident presentations, guided by their teachers, were both meaningful and commendable. The event also stood out as a visual treat, with students adorned in traditional Punjabi dresses featuring turbans, phulkari dupattas, and colourful accessories. The festive décor further enhanced the celebratory mood within the school premises.
The celebration concluded with words of appreciation from the school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, who lauded the efforts of students and teachers. He emphasised the importance of celebrating cultural festivals to remain connected to one’s roots.
