Recently, Apeejay School, Saket, introduced Korean language classes for students of Class VI B and Class VIII A, marking a step towards expanding global learning opportunities within the school. The initiative reflects a growing emphasis on language education that connects students with diverse cultures and perspectives.

The first session began on a lively note, with students greeting each other in Korean and participating in a silent clap that set a warm and inclusive tone. The classroom atmosphere quickly turned engaging as the teacher led an interactive session, encouraging students to respond, observe, and participate actively.

A highlight of the session was the enactment of a Korean poem about a bear. Through expressive storytelling and gestures, the teacher brought the poem to life, helping students understand both the language and the cultural context behind it. The activity created a sense of curiosity and made the learning experience more accessible for beginners.

The introduction of Korean language classes is part of a broader effort to equip students with skills that go beyond textbooks. Exposure to a new language at an early stage allows learners to develop better listening skills, cultural awareness, and confidence in communication.

Students showed enthusiasm throughout the session, responding to instructions and participating in activities with interest. The interactive approach appeared to ease initial hesitation and encouraged them to engage with the unfamiliar sounds and expressions of the language.

As the programme continues, it is expected to offer students a deeper understanding of Korean culture while strengthening their ability to adapt to new learning environments. The initiative signals the school’s commitment to preparing students for a world where cultural awareness and language skills play an increasingly important role.
