Apeejay School, Faridabad organises an awareness session on traffic rules, road safety, cyber security and responsible internet usage
Recently, Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, organised a Traffic and Cyber Safety Awareness Session. The aim was to sensitise students to the importance of responsible road behaviour and the safe, informed use of digital platforms. The session aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and awareness to navigate both physical and digital spaces responsibly.
The informative session was conducted by Mr Satbir Singh Sorot, SHO, Police Station Central, Sector-12, Faridabad, and Mr Om Prakash Deshwal, Sub-Inspector, Police Chowki, Sector-15, Faridabad. Through engaging interactions and relatable examples, the officials highlighted the importance of understanding safety protocols and making responsible choices in everyday situations.
The speakers addressed key aspects of traffic safety, encouraging students to follow road regulations, observe traffic signals, use designated pedestrian crossings, and remain alert while travelling. They emphasised that road safety is a shared responsibility and that even small acts of caution can help prevent accidents and save lives. Students were also encouraged to understand the significance of wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding distractions while on the road, and respecting other road users.
The session also focused extensively on cyber safety and responsible internet usage. The officials discussed the growing risks associated with the digital world, including online fraud, cyberbullying, phishing attempts, identity theft and the misuse of personal information. Students were advised to create strong passwords, avoid sharing sensitive details online, exercise caution while clicking unfamiliar links and verify the authenticity of messages, websites and online requests before responding.
Through real-life examples, the speakers helped students understand how seemingly harmless online actions can sometimes lead to serious consequences. They urged students to maintain privacy, think critically before posting or sharing content, and immediately seek help from trusted adults or appropriate authorities if they encounter suspicious or uncomfortable online situations.
The interactive session encouraged students to ask questions and reflect on their own habits related to road and digital safety. It reinforced the idea that awareness, vigilance and responsible decision-making are essential tools for protecting oneself and others.
The programme concluded with students reaffirming their commitment to becoming responsible road users and informed digital citizens. The session served as a meaningful learning experience, strengthening the school’s endeavour to nurture safety-conscious, aware and responsible young individuals.
