Apeejay School, Model Town observed Earth Day with a series of student-led activities that focused on environmental awareness and responsibility. The programme brought together performance and reflection, helping students engage with the idea of sustainability in a meaningful way.
The celebration opened with a lively dance that set the tone for the day. Students then presented a skit titled Court of Nature Humans on Trial. The performance explored the consequences of human actions on the environment and placed nature at the centre of the narrative.
The skit stood out for its clear message and structured storytelling. Students portrayed the imbalance caused by human interference and the urgent need to restore harmony. Through simple scenes and strong expressions, they drew attention to issues such as loss of biodiversity and harm to wildlife.
Speeches by students added another layer to the programme. They spoke about conserving resources, reducing waste, and making mindful choices in daily life. The focus remained on practical steps that individuals can take.

Learning beyond the classroom
The activities highlighted how environmental education can move beyond textbooks. Students used performance as a way to understand and communicate complex ideas. It also encouraged them to reflect on their own role in protecting the environment.
The event closed with a shared message that small actions can lead to meaningful change. Planting trees, saving water, and reducing plastic use were presented as everyday responsibilities.
As schools continue to address environmental concerns, such initiatives help shape awareness early. What this really means is that students are not just learning about the planet, they are beginning to see themselves as responsible for its future.
