“Manpower without unity is not a strength unless it is harmonised and united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power”- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

In an endeavour to solidify the bond of oneness and universal brotherhood, Apeejay Noida students commemorated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) on October 28.

The celebrations were conducted virtually for nursery and kindergarten students and a special assembly was conducted in the multipurpose hall of the school for students of classes 1-4.

The assembly commenced with a mesmerising dance performance by the students of the school.

Students displayed ‘Unity in Diversity’ by wearing the iconic dresses of different Indian states. A short play: ‘The Iron Man of India: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’ was performed by students to offer homage to India’s first home minister.

Numerous activities such as poster making and slogan writing were organised, celebrating the National Unity Day.  The day marked an opportunity to reinstate one’s dedication to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of the nation.

Principal, Mr A K Sharma, traced the history of the national unity day and reiterated to all students that it is observed in remembrance of the great leader: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who unified modern India. He reminded the students, “United we stand in our fight against the pandemic, just as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel integrated the princely states into the Indian Union, we shall also manifest the nationalist spirit within us to maintain solidarity; the strong foundation our secular India sits on.”

Vice Principal, Mrs. Amrita Hajela addressed the students and paid tributes to the Iron Man of India. She asked students to draw inspiration from such a great leader and emphasised on the significance of celebrating National Unity Day. She further asked all teachers and students to renew their pledge to safeguard the unity of the country at all times.
