Schools in Faridabad immerse in Independence Day celebrations 

Apeejay School, Faridabad Sector 15 and Apeejay Svran Global School celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence in a value-based holistic manner



The Incredible India Week has brought a surge of optimism, positivity and gratitude to all citizens. The 75th anniversary of Indian independence is a historic moment and the people of the nation have left no stone unturned to celebrate it fully. Schools have done a great deal in this regard, especially Apeejay Schools in Faridabad.  Primary Wing students of the school actively participated in a plethora of activities.

Students of class Nursery and Kindergarten enjoyed colouring the National Flag while the students of Class 1 represented different states of India by coming up dressed in respective state costumes to showcase ‘Unity in Diversity’. 

Class II students using tearing, pasting and paper-folding techniques madebeautiful Tricoloured birds. While students of Class 3 shared amazing facts about India,  those from Class 4 prepared a brilliant talk show themed on Indian Scientists. A session on ‘Knowing More about Forts and Palaces’ and a collage making activity was conducted for class 5 students. 

All the students had a great time being part of the Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. Nursery and Kindergarten students also made delicious tricoloured sandwiches. In a ‘Show and Tell’ activity, Class 1 students dressed up in colourful attires. 

India is known all over the world for its iconic and incredible culinary art, thus an Indian Food Festival was a must. Therefore, a non-fire cooking activity was conducted for class 2 students, who enjoyed the diverse cuisines of the nation. 

A talk show titled ‘Dadi Ma Ke Nuskhe – India’, which gave an insight into the country known as the land of spices was organised by the students. Class 5 students tried their hand at making tricolour flower vases using paper spirals. All the activities conducted carried a deep message of patriotism and students learnt a lot about the nation in a practical hands-on yet interesting approach.

Apeejay Schools in Faridabad put in all their efforts to help the students understand the nation in a value-based manner. Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad also celebrated Independence week in a delightful manner. The tiny tots from Classes Nursery to 3 dressed up in the attires of national freedom fighters. It was spectacular to see the future torchbearers of the nation dressed as Subhash Chander Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu and other great leaders. The students won everyone’s heart as they passionately raised the slogans given by the respective leaders.

A poster-making activity was organised for the students of Classes 6 to 8 under the theme of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. A fitness drill was also conducted for the students of Classes Nursery to 5, where they were briefed about the importance of having a healthy body which is an asset for a healthy nation. 

Class 8 student Ananya Kaushik expressed her views on the rich and varied culture of the nation and its unique diversity.

Eliciting patriotism, students sang many patriotic songs. Prodigy Dhruv Pandit poured his heart out when he vocalised the song ‘Ae Mere Pyare Watan’ . Everyone stood mesmerised by the dance performance on the songs ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Lehrado’. Class 8 student Jia Narang shared many interesting facts about the National Anthem.

Further, Anjani,a Class 12 student gave a thunderous speech about the sacrifices of great freedom fighters who willingly sacrificed their lives in the name of the nation.

Principal of Apeejay Svran Global School, Ms. Priti Wason, addressed the students and said, “The feeling of oneness should be felt from deep down the heart, that alone is the foundation of a strong nation.”
