As part of the observance of Child Safety Month, Apeejay School, Saket organised an interactive awareness session on Good Touch and Bad Touch for the students of Class II A. The session was designed to help young learners understand the importance of personal safety, respect for personal boundaries, and the confidence to seek help whenever they feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

The age-appropriate session introduced students to the concepts of safe and unsafe touch through simple explanations, interactive discussions, and engaging activities. The resource person explained that while some forms of touch express care, affection, or protection, there are situations in which touch can make a child feel uncomfortable, confused, or frightened. Students were encouraged to trust their instincts and understand that their feelings matter.

Special emphasis was laid on the importance of personal boundaries and the right of every child to say “No” to any form of touch that makes them feel uneasy. The session also highlighted the significance of identifying trusted adults, such as parents, teachers, or guardians, with whom children can freely share their concerns without fear or hesitation.

The interactive format kept the young learners actively involved throughout the programme. Through storytelling, questions, and real-life examples suited to their age, students gained valuable insights into recognising unsafe situations and responding appropriately. They were reminded that speaking up is an act of courage and that no child should remain silent if they ever feel unsafe.

The awareness session reinforced essential life skills while nurturing confidence, self-respect, and emotional well-being among the students. By equipping children with the knowledge to protect themselves and encouraging open communication, the school continues to create a supportive and secure learning environment.

At Apeejay School, Saket, child safety remains a shared responsibility and a key priority. Through meaningful initiatives such as these, the school strives to empower every learner with the awareness, confidence, and life skills needed to make safe choices and seek help whenever required. The programme served as a valuable step towards fostering a culture of trust, respect, and safety, ensuring that every child feels protected, heard, and empowered both within and beyond the classroom.
