The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on March 17, 2023, conducted the हिंदी Board exam for class X. The question paper had a total of 18 questions for 80 marks. Students were required to complete the paper in three hours – from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The format of the question paper: The paper had two sections.
Section A: All these were Multiple Choice Type Questions (MCQs): There were a total of 45 objective-type questions in this section out of which students were required to attempt any 40 questions. These were for 1 mark each. This section was a bit tricky
Section B: These comprised questions from 11 to 18. All these questions had to be answered in descriptive format.
According to Rekha Khadian, a हिंदी teacher at Apeejay School, Greater Noida, it was a very good paper even though it was a little lengthy. “The students were happy once they were out of the exam centres. Most said that they had done well. There was a choice in MCQs which was good even though it proved to be tricky. In section B, the questions that were asked were related to textbooks, grammar and writing work like letter writing, essays, and ad and story writing. This section was good. Almost all students said that this section was the easiest,” Khadian said and added that over all the question paper was good.
She said that there were a few words in the unseen passage that the students found difficult to understand and therefore had to spend more time understanding them than was necessary and added:
The CBSE has set up 7,250 exam centres across the nation and 26 countries abroad. This year, the total number of registered candidates for class X is 21.8 lakh, out of which 9.39 lakh are girl students, 12.4 lakh are boys. The exams for class X will be conducted for 16 days and end on March 21. For class X, CBSE is conducting the exams in 76 subjects.
