Learning often becomes more meaningful when students step outside the classroom and experience institutions that shape the country first-hand. To deepen civic understanding and connect classroom lessons with real-world systems, students of Apeejay School Saket visited the Parliament House as part of an educational excursion. The visit offered them a closer look at India’s democratic framework, parliamentary functioning, and the heritage linked to the nation’s governance.

During the visit, students explored different sections of the Parliament complex and learned about the functioning of legislative processes. Teachers accompanying the students explained the importance of parliamentary debates, decision-making, and the role of elected representatives in shaping policies. The experience helped students understand how democratic values are practised beyond textbooks and discussions in school.

The excursion also encouraged students to reflect on the responsibilities of citizenship and the importance of informed participation in society. Many students were seen engaging with curiosity as they observed the architecture, historical significance, and functioning of one of the country’s most important institutions.

The school Principal said, “The more you explore, the better you become. Kudos, team.” The message reflected the school’s emphasis on experiential learning and encouraging students to broaden their understanding through meaningful exposure outside traditional classrooms.

Educational visits such as these continue to play an important role in helping young learners connect academic concepts with practical understanding. What this really means is that students are not only learning about democracy as a subject but are also witnessing how institutions operate in real life.

Experiences like these contribute to building awareness, responsibility, and confidence among students as they prepare to become informed citizens of the future.
