AISMUN 2026 opens with a call for dialogue and diplomacy

The 10th edition of the Apeejay Interschool Model United Nations (AISMUN) began with a dignified opening ceremony at Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, marking an important milestone. The occasion reflected a decade shaped by dialogue, diplomacy and student leadership.

The theme, Diligence. Diplomacy. Dominance set the direction for AISMUN ’26. It also established the tone for the two days ahead, during which young delegates would take part in deliberations, negotiation and diplomacy.

An alumnus addresses young delegates

Dr Gopal Krishnan Iyer graced the ceremony and addressed the delegates. An alumnus of Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, he is a technologist, policy strategist and academician.

His address resonated with the young participants and became a significant part of the opening programme. His presence also gave delegates an opportunity to hear from a former student of the school.

Ceremony sets the stage

The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. This was followed by the awaited Secretariat Reveal. Cultural performances added vibrancy and grandeur to the occasion.

The Secretary General’s address formally set the stage for the conference. It directed attention towards two days of spirited deliberations, careful negotiation and active diplomacy.

Ten years of AISMUN

The opening ceremony celebrated the decade-long legacy of AISMUN. Across its ten editions, the conference has remained committed to empowering young minds to question, deliberate, negotiate and lead.

The milestone carried particular meaning for the school and the delegates beginning the conference. It recognised the journey completed over the past decade while keeping the focus firmly on the discussions ahead.

AISMUN ’26 now carries that legacy into its 10th edition. Through dialogue and diplomacy, the conference continues to offer young delegates a forum where they can question, deliberate, negotiate and develop the confidence to lead.
