Gopal Mohan Chhauda’s son Kushagra has been attending offline classes at Apeejay Faridabad Sector 15 for two months now. In nursery, the little one has already made school his second home, thanks to the love and care he receives from the teachers. In an interview, Gopal, who runs a manufacturing business called Impress Machine Tools, tells us more about the school’s infrastructure and teaching methods. Read on:

So, was Apeejay Faridabad Sector 15 the first choice for your son?

We live in a joint family where all the children in the house are either enrolled or have completed their schooling from Apeejay Faridabad Sector 15 including myself. We are all very comfortable with the school and have never considered any other institution.

Compared to your time as a student, what differences did you see at school when you went to enroll your son?

The overall environment at Apeejay is very impressive and fulfilling for a child—from the playground and lush greenery across the school campus to the caring attitude of the teachers. Apeejay’s infrastructure has now surpassed that of many other well-known schools. I am very happy that my son got the opportunity to study here.

What was your interaction with the principal or faculty like during the time of the admission?

They were very cordial and welcoming. I sincerely appreciate all their efforts in nurturing children so well.

Has Kushagra settled in?

Yes! He feels very comfortable at school. In fact, he loves going to school so much that he is upset about having to spend his summer vacation away from his friends and teachers!

In terms of curriculum or pedagogy, what differences do you notice between the exposure you got versus your child?

The changes are tremendous, albeit positive, which are benefitting my child. My son’s nursery textbook is very different from mine (laughs). Besides, the modern methods of teaching adopted by the school ensure the active participation of children. In my opinion, Apeejay is one of the best schools in Faridabad.

What are these methods of teaching?

The teachers promote activity-based learning, something my son loves. He is always excited to return home and share with us all that he learned at school. I myself engage in making him learn new activities and keep regular track of his progress. The process has been quite enriching so far.

Are the teachers aware of your child’s strengths and weaknesses and give him personal attention?

Absolutely! The school faculty takes care of this aspect really well. We get timely feedback from Kushagra’s teachers about his performance in class. As parents, my wife and I feel very comfortable when it comes to coordinating with the school faculty. We can easily interact with the teachers and raise our concerns whenever needed.

Although it has just been two months, have you seen any developments in Kushagra?

Kushagra used to be extremely introverted. But in just two months of school, he has been able to come out of his shell, shed his inhibitions, and interact confidently. He loves talking about his school activities which goes to show how much he must be enjoying them! I take personal interest in his activities and his overall grooming and development.
