The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to apply for scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets until May 23, 2026, after several candidates faced technical issues while accessing post-result services on the official portal. The earlier deadline was May 22, 2026.
The decision is a relief for students and parents who reported multiple glitches during the application process. Users complained of login failures, payment gateway errors, and slow portal response, especially during peak traffic hours. Many students were unable to complete their applications within the original timeline due to these disruptions.
In its official notification, CBSE stated that it introduced the extension to ensure that students receive sufficient time to submit their requests without inconvenience. The board also advised candidates to avoid waiting until the last moment and complete the process within the revised deadline.
Students can apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books through the official CBSE portal using their login credentials. Once they receive the scanned copies, they can review the evaluation, seek verification of marks, or apply for re-evaluation of specific answers if required. The process aims to increase transparency and help students make informed decisions regarding their results.
CBSE has also announced a significant reduction in fees for post-result services for the 2026 board examinations. The fee for obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets has been reduced from Rs 700 to Rs 100 per subject. Verification of marks now costs Rs 100 instead of Rs 500, while re-evaluation charges have been lowered from Rs 100 per question to Rs 25 per question.
The revised fee structure and extended deadline are expected to make post-result services more accessible and student-friendly while addressing concerns raised after the declaration of board results.
