To provide students with practical exposure to the world of printing and packaging, students and faculty members from the Graphic Design Department (GDP IV Semester), EDD (IV & VI Semester), and Applied Art undertook an educational visit to Inkprint.in in Okhla Phase I, New Delhi. The industrial visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world print production processes, enabling students to understand how design concepts transform into tangible products.
Established in 2009, Inkprint.in is recognised as a trusted leader in printing and packaging solutions and is based in the bustling industrial hub of Okhla. The visiting group received a warm welcome from Mr. Abhishek Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Inkprint.in, who introduced students to the company’s operations and provided an overview of the printing and packaging industry.
The visit offered students an immersive experience as they toured the facility and witnessed the various stages involved in print production. They observed how materials such as different paper GSMs, cardboard, films, and foils are carefully selected based on the nature and purpose of the final product.
Students also gained firsthand knowledge of diverse printing techniques and finishing processes, including lamination, spot UV, embossing, and foiling, which are crucial for enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of printed materials. In addition, they learned about key assembly processes such as cutting, folding, and gluing, which are essential for creating practical and visually appealing packaging solutions.
A major highlight of the visit was understanding the technical precision involved in professional printing. Students were introduced to concepts such as colour accuracy through Pantone systems, maintaining proper bleed and margins, and the significance of using high-resolution images to ensure quality output. These learnings helped students understand the intricate balance between creativity and technical accuracy in the printing industry.

The visit proved highly insightful for aspiring designers, connecting theoretical design principles with practical industrial applications. By observing advanced printing technologies and workflow systems, students developed a better appreciation for the craftsmanship and precision involved in producing everyday printed materials.
Reflecting on the experience, Harshit Bisht, a GDP-IV Graphic Design student, shared, “Our industry visit was an insightful and engaging experience that gave me a closer look at the real-world functioning of the printing industry. As we entered the facility, I was impressed by the organized layout and the advanced machinery used for different stages of printing.”
He further added, “We observed large offset and digital printing machines in action, producing high-quality prints at remarkable speed. It was fascinating to see how raw materials like paper and ink are transformed into finished products such as brochures, packaging materials, and posters. This visit enhanced my understanding of industrial processes and helped me appreciate the skill and effort involved in producing everyday printed materials.”
Overall, the visit to Inkprint.in served as an enriching learning experience, broadening students’ perspectives and strengthening their understanding of the practical dimensions of graphic design and print production.
