Aanchal Gupta’s daughter Sanchi, a nursery student at Apeejay School, Faridabad Sector 15, was an introvert when she joined school. However, in just a few days, her mother found her child speaking on stage confidently. Aanchal’s elder son Aryaman is also studying in the same school, in class 2. In an interview, the mother-of-two talks about how the teachers’ constant support and encouragement have shaped her children. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Faridabad Sector 15?

My husband and sister-in-law are alumni of Apeejay, and the latter’s son is studying in the school, in class 6. When it came to enrolling my children Aryaman and his younger sister Sanchi, Apeejay was the obvious choice. Based on my experience with respect to Aryaman, I found the teachers to be supportive in every way possible. I never faced any difficulty whenever I had to reach out to them for anything. The teachers are always available, which, for me, is the major reason that makes the school so special. So, for Sanchi too, we chose Apeejay Faridabad Sector 15.

Would you say your children get personal attention from the teachers?

Yes, in a big way. Through constant encouragement from the teachers, my children have overcome stage fear. Sanchi, for instance, was very introverted initially but in just the last few days that she has been attending school, she has learned to speak confidently during the show-and-tell activity. The way teachers have been pushing her to participate is wonderful.

Now that Sanchi has started going to school, is she feeling comfortable?

Absolutely, she is very comfortable. Not just Sanchi, even when I met the teachers, I felt assured that my daughter had been enrolled at the right place.

What about Aryaman?

Aryaman is a confident child. He has never cried or hesitated about going to school. He likes interacting with the teachers and appreciates them a lot. Even during the online classes, I found him to be quite enthusiastic. He is very happy with the school.

Is the curriculum well designed for young children?

The curriculum is good and age-appropriate. It has been designed keeping in mind the fact that every child’s capacity to grasp is different. Teachers encourage children to write more, which, according to me, is very important.

Do teachers use interactive learning methods in class?

Yes, a variety of learning activities are planned every month, from show-and-tell to drawing activities.
