The Central Board of Secondary Education has extended the last date for Class 12 students to apply for verification and re-evaluation of answer sheets. The earlier deadline of June 6, 2026, midnight, has now been pushed to June 7, 2026, midnight.
The board said the decision was taken in the interest of students, allowing them additional time to complete the post-result process. The move comes after several students reported difficulty in accessing answer books and submitting applications through CBSE’s post-result services portal.
The online portal was opened on June 2 for students who wished to seek verification of issues observed in scanned copies of answer books or apply for re-evaluation of answers. Students can report problems such as missing pages, missing supplementary sheets, missing maps or graphs, blurred pages, incorrect answer books, or evaluation against a different question paper set.
The extension has come amid growing concerns over CBSE’s on-screen marking system. Some Class 12 students had alleged that scanned copies of answer sheets uploaded by the board did not match their handwriting, raising fears of possible mismatches during digital evaluation.
According to reports, CBSE had received more than 70,000 applications through its grievance redressal portal by June 4. Of these, 7,314 applications were for verification of marks, and 63,119 were for re-evaluation.
The issue has also gained importance for students seeking admission through competitive routes, where final Class 12 marks may affect eligibility. Any correction in marks after re-evaluation could influence admission-related decisions for some candidates.
CBSE has advised students to take note of the revised schedule and submit their applications within the extended deadline. With the one-day extension, Class 12 candidates now have time until midnight on June 7, 2026, to complete the verification and re-evaluation process.
