Apeejay Kickboxers Bring Glory to the School at the 22nd Sub-Junior State Kickboxing Championship
The young athletes from Apeejay School, Tanda Road, deliver medal-winning performances for Team Jalandhar
Students of Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, once again made the institution proud by putting up an extraordinary show in the 22nd Sub-Junior State Kickboxing Championship. Young competitors from across the state participated in the championship, and the Apeejayites proved their excellent sports spirit, discipline and determination throughout the competition.
Among the achievers was Samriddhi Sharma, who won a Bronze medal in the 32kg Younger Cadets Point Fight category. She showcased her exceptional skill and confidence. The 42kg Younger Cadets Point Fight category saw Harkunwar Singh Dhuper bringing home a Bronze medal as he performed remarkably against strong opponents. In the 32kg Older Cadets Point Fight category, the school’s achievers included Aadhya Kapoor (Bronze medal). Bhav Aggarwal, another achiever, also won a Bronze medal in the 52kg Older Cadets Point Fight category.
The tournament was also a learning experience for many upcoming players of the school. Prizleen Kaur competed in the 42kg Younger Cadets Point Fight, Dhritil Gupta competed in the 37kg Younger Cadets Point Fight, and Yuvika competed in the 50kg Older Cadets Point Fight categories, respectively. Their performance was a testament to courage and commitment, as well as the value of learning. It emphasised the importance of accepting defeat with grace, a lesson that the school instils in all its students.
In total, the students brought 4 Bronze medals to add to the spectacular performance of the Jalandhar team, which ended up with the 2nd position in the Overall State Championship. The management acknowledged the performance of the participants and congratulated the winners for their dedication and hard work.
This performance is indeed a feather in the cap for the entire Apeejay School, Tanda Road family and reiterates the school’s vision to bring up children who are the best, not just in studies, but in sports and co-curricular activities too.
