Vandana Srivastava’s daughter Priyal, a student of Apeejay Charkhi Dadri, has been promoted to kindergarten this year. Having started her journey with online classes, Priyal has finally started going to school now and is thoroughly enjoying her time. In an interview, her mother talks about what makes the school an ideal educational institution for her child. Edited excerpts:

What made you choose Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, for your daughter?

I got to know about the school from my landlord. His children study at Apeejay Charkhi Dadri. Impressed with their excellent development, I was keen on enrolling my daughter in the school as well. What I liked the most about the school was their method of teaching and the way they handled young children. We have now enrolled our younger daughter Shreyal in the school, in nursery.

What was your first interaction with the school faculty like?

We had a lovely interaction with the school principal. He was cordial and made us feel extremely comfortable. In fact, this was the first time that my daughter interacted with someone other than her parents; she was very shy earlier. We were quite shocked to see that! We had made up our minds to get her admitted to the school.

From online classes to now offline, how has the experience been?

For online classes, I would usually accompany my daughter. Priyal enjoyed her time thoroughly. Now that she has started going to school physically, she is even more enthusiastic. The reason behind this is that their classes are activity-based. Not for once do the children feel bored of studying; the class teacher makes it a point to speak to all of them individually. Priyal has shed much of her hesitancy and speaks to people comfortably. In terms of studies, her reading and writing skills are gradually improving.

Do teachers keep you informed about your daughter’s progress?

It is wonderful to see how the teachers share their feedback with the parents on a regular basis. Whether it is Priyal’s weaknesses or strengths, her teacher always keeps me updated.
