Under a canopy of warmth, gratitude, and togetherness, the PYP wing of Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, celebrated Mother’s Day with heartfelt joy. Centred around the theme Garden Elegance, the celebration beautifully honoured the invaluable role mothers play in shaping the lives of their children while creating cherished memories for families and educators alike.
What made the celebration truly meaningful was the thoughtful preparation that began a week in advance. Learners across the PYP participated in specially curated weekend engagements designed to help them observe, appreciate, and better understand their mothers’ everyday contributions. Younger learners reflected on the love, care, and comfort they received from their mothers through simple observations and expressions of gratitude.
Students also engaged in deeper conversations and reflective activities that encouraged them to recognise their mothers’ strengths, aspirations, sacrifices, and experiences. These meaningful engagements transformed Mother’s Day into far more than a one-day event, nurturing empathy, appreciation, and stronger family bonds among learners.

The formal celebration commenced in the AV Room with an inspiring address by the school’s Principal-cum-Director, Mr Stephen James Tumpane, in the gracious presence of Vice-principal, Ms Neha Sharma. The event was elegantly anchored by students of PYP-5, Daiwik and Vismaya, who guided the audience through the thoughtfully curated programme with confidence and charm.
A series of engaging performances added colour and emotion to the occasion. PYP-5 learners presented a graceful and reflective dance performance, while the spirited presentation by PYP-3 brought vibrance and excitement to the gathering.
One of the most touching moments of the celebration was the heartfelt performance by Aarya Nandwani of PYP-4 alongside her mother, which resonated deeply with the audience. Equally captivating was the soulful classical presentation by Tuhar Sen of PYP-4 and his mother, earning immense appreciation for its emotional depth and artistic expression.

The celebration also featured lively interactive segments that filled the atmosphere with laughter and joy. Engaging games for mothers, conducted by Ms Geetika Singh, saw enthusiastic participation, with winners receiving special gifts. Adding to the festive spirit, mothers joined an energetic dance session that created delightful moments of bonding and celebration.
Thereafter, mothers visited their children’s classrooms for specially planned engagements, including student performances, collaborative craft-making activities, and the creation of keepsakes that families could treasure as lasting memories of the day. The celebration beautifully captured the spirit of love, gratitude, and togetherness, leaving every participant with moments to cherish for years to come.

The day concluded with a heartfelt ‘vote of thanks’ delivered by Ms Anumol, Coordinator, followed by refreshments that provided an opportunity for parents and staff members to interact in a warm and cheerful setting.
