The investiture ceremony fosters leadership, integrity, and responsibility in students, marking their pledge to lead by example and uphold school values. It signifies the formal induction of newly elected leaders, celebrating their role and inspiring others to lead with commitment and purpose. In this spirit, Apeejay School, Noida, conducted its Investiture Ceremony for senior students (Classes VI-VIII) on July 19, 2025. Held in the school auditorium, the event witnessed the official installation of the 2025–26 student council, marking a proud and significant milestone in the academic calendar.

The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, accompanied by students chanting a sacred hymn. This symbolic ritual, joined by school leaders and parents, represented the triumph of light over darkness and the welcoming of wisdom, knowledge, and clarity into the lives of the young leaders.

The soulful musical performance by the senior students added a melodious touch to the solemn proceedings. Then came the moment that everyone was waiting for. Dr Neha Sharma (Principal) and Ms Puneeta Bhasin (Vice-principal, Junior School) took to the stage to adorn the young leaders with badges and sashes, marking their formal induction.

This year’s ceremony celebrated not only appointments but also a renewed faith in the democratic process. The Middle School Prefectorial Board, comprising head boy and girl, house prefects, vice-prefects, sports captains, eco champions, YANA captains, and members of the disciplinary committee, took centre stage. Students from Classes VI to VIII stepped forward with pride as their names were announced, each entrusted with a role that extended beyond mere titles; these were commitments to serve their peers and school with integrity, vision, and discipline.

The event also highlighted the presence and encouragement of parents and faculty members who cheered the young leaders on. House wardens joined the newly appointed office bearers on stage, formally handing over house flags — a symbol of heritage, pride, and unity. The sense of collective purpose was palpable as these future flagbearers of responsibility pledged to uphold the school’s motto, Soaring High is My Nature.

In her address, Dr Sharma expressed immense pride in the evolving leadership culture within the school. She reflected on how leadership was once limited to a handful, but today, every child is seen as a potential leader. She reminded parents of the importance of being fully present during these critical years and encouraged more meaningful, offline engagement at home, away from screens. “Let technology remain a tool, not the master,” she said, urging families to model responsibility, values, and presence.

The newly elected student leaders, in turn, expressed their gratitude and aspirations.

The Head Girl said, “It is with immense pride and humility that I accept this role. I’ve worked closely with my peers and teachers over the years, and I understand the responsibility this badge carries. I promise to lead with empathy, fairness, and dedication and to make sure every student finds their voice and shines.”

The Head Boy shared, “I’m honoured to stand here as Head Boy. I thank the Principal ma’am, our teachers, my family, and friends for their trust and encouragement. I will do my best to uphold our values and represent every student with sincerity and courage. Let’s make this year truly memorable.”

The ceremony closed on a note of pride and promise and singing of the school song, as the newly inducted council embraced their roles, ready to lead by example.
