Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, GK-II, celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with immense enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and a deep sense of pride. Centred around the theme Indian Global Icons, the celebration provided young learners with an engaging opportunity to discover and celebrate Indians who have made remarkable contributions across the world.
The celebrations commenced with a ceremonial flag hoisting, followed by the national anthem. As the Tricolour soared proudly, the campus resonated with a strong sense of patriotism, unity, and respect for the nation. The school premises were beautifully decorated in vibrant tricolour hues, with patriotic motifs, creative displays, and themed installations showcasing India’s rich cultural and national identity.
The Chief Guests for the occasion was Dr Ishita Ganguli Tripathy, Officer of the Indian Economic Service and Joint Secretary & Additional Financial Advisor, Ministry of Defence and Padma Shri Awardee Dr Mohsin Wali, eminent physician of national repute and former physician to the Presidents of India. Mr and Mrs Kishan Tiwari of Zoom Delhi Weekly Editorial attended the celebration as Special Guests.

The highlight of the programme was the colourful Indian Global Icons dress-up presentation. Dressed as inspiring personalities from diverse fields such as politics, sports, science and space, business and finance, IT and technology, Bollywood and fashion, the young learners brought the stories of celebrated Indians to life. Children enthusiastically portrayed icons including Sania Mirza, Virat Kohli, and Sundar Pichai, among several other achievers.
The activity went beyond costumes and performances, encouraging children to understand the journeys, achievements and contributions of Indian personalities who have earned recognition on the global stage. It inspired them to dream ambitiously, appreciate their heritage and recognise their own potential to make a meaningful difference.
Addressing the young learners, Ms Komal Nathani, the School Head, encouraged them to remain curious, confident and responsible citizens while carrying forward the values and spirit of India.

The celebration concluded on a joyous and patriotic note, leaving the children and guests with cherished memories and a renewed appreciation for India’s extraordinary global legacy and the achievements of its people.
