Independence Day gave students of Apeejay School, Tanda Road, an opportunity to understand freedom through music, dance and meaningful activities. The celebration brought together learners across age groups. Unity, responsibility and love for the nation remained central to the programme.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the In-charge of the School, Ms Simranjit Kaur. This was followed by a special assembly prepared for Independence Day.
A morning of patriotic performances
Students of Classes VII and VIII presented patriotic group songs. A UKG learner recited a poem on India, while children from the Pre-primary wing gave a dance performance. Class VI presented a patriotic group dance. The boys of Class VIII also performed a special group song.
A musical play by Classes IV and V was based on the theme One Earth, No Boundaries. The varied performances gave students a chance to take part in the celebration according to their age and interests. Music, poetry, dance and theatre brought a distinct character to the assembly.
Young learners understand freedom
The little learners also marked the occasion with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. They took part in fun and meaningful activities that helped them understand the importance of freedom. These activities encouraged love and respect for the country. They also helped the children recognise their role as young citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Ms Kaur encouraged students to uphold the values of unity, responsibility and love for the nation. The school Principal, Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel, congratulated the students on their performances and enthusiastic participation.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem. It brought the school community together in a shared moment of pride, unity and love for the motherland. The celebration also helped students connect freedom with responsible citizenship.
These early lessons can guide how children understand their duties towards the country and one another in the years ahead.
