Recently, Apeejay School, Saket, organised Impulse 2026, its International Inter-school Computer Fest, on 13 May 2026. The event brought together students from 20 schools and created a space for young learners to engage with emerging ideas in technology and artificial intelligence. Through competitions, presentations, and discussions, the fest focused on how technology is steadily shaping the way students think, create, and solve problems.

The programme was attended by Major General Manish Mehta, a decorated veteran officer of the Corps of Signals in the Indian Army, who joined the event as the Chief Guest. He was welcomed by the school Principal, Dr Sujeet Eric Masih, who greeted the participants, teachers, and guests present for the occasion.

The event began with the lamp lighting, which symbolised the pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and new beginnings. The Chief Guest was accorded a green welcome by the Principal through the presentation of a sapling, reflecting the school’s commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable practices. The school also presented Major General Mehta with a token of appreciation for inspiring the students.

Addressing the gathering, Major General Mehta spoke about leadership, discipline, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. He encouraged students to approach technology with awareness and responsibility while preparing themselves for a future that will increasingly depend on digital understanding and innovation.

An interactive presentation on Artificial Intelligence was delivered by Jasmine Roy of Class XI. Her session explored how AI is beginning to emulate human skills and decision-making processes. The presentation drew strong participation from the audience and added another layer of discussion to the larger theme of the fest.

The event featured five competitions: perform@ai, pitch@ai, GD@ai, design@ai, and innovate@ai. Each competition was designed to test creativity, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Students from participating schools presented ideas and solutions that reflected both technical understanding and originality.

The valedictory ceremony marked the conclusion of the fest, where winners were felicitated and participating schools were appreciated for their involvement. Indraprastha International School, Dwarka, won the overall trophy.

Impulse 2026 highlighted how school platforms are increasingly encouraging students to engage with technology not only as users, but also as thoughtful creators and innovators prepared for future challenges.
