Making informed career choices has become increasingly important for senior school students as they prepare for higher education and professional life. Recognising this need, Apeejay School, Pitampura, recently organised an interactive session for students of Classes XI and XII on the theme Future Ready: Career Strategy, Well-Being and Interest Validation.

The session was conducted by Dr Sunitaa Tank, Executive Leadership Coach, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Founder of Leader in Making. A recognised Regional Mentor, Change for NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission, Dr Tank brings with her over two decades of leadership experience across national and multinational organisations. Her academic associations with institutions such as IPU and Delhi University have also contributed to her work with young learners and future professionals.

During the two-hour session, students engaged in discussions on career planning, emotional well-being, and self-awareness. Dr Tank spoke about the importance of identifying one’s natural strengths and interests before making academic and professional decisions. She also explained how changing global work environments require students to remain adaptable, curious, and emotionally resilient.

Using relatable real-life examples, she addressed exam anxiety and the growing pressure many students experience while planning their careers. The session encouraged students to shift their focus from fear of performance to confidence building and personal growth. Students were also guided on communication skills, first impressions, and vocal confidence, particularly in the context of interviews, presentations, and group discussions.

The interaction gave students an open platform to discuss their doubts and concerns. Several students participated actively by asking thoughtful questions related to career confusion, confidence, and future expectations. School Principal, Mrs Veena Goel encouraged students to express themselves freely and use such opportunities to understand their own potential better.

The session reflected the school’s continued effort to prepare students not only for examinations, but also for the larger challenges and decisions that shape their future journeys.
