WhatsApp is set to enhance user experience with the introduction of real-time voice conversations facilitated by Meta AI. This new feature, currently in development, aims to make AI interactions more customisable, intuitive, and user-friendly. According to a WABetaInfo report, the voice chat mode has been spotted in the WhatsApp beta version for iOS 24.16.10.70.
The upcoming feature will enable users to engage in real-time voice conversations with Meta AI, allowing them to select from a variety of default voice options for responses. This customisation aims to provide a more personalised user experience. However, the voice chat mode will not be enabled by default, giving users full control over their interactions. They will have the option to stop the voice conversation at any time, ensuring a user-centric approach to AI communication.
Privacy remains a top priority for WhatsApp. To this end, the platform will introduce a privacy indicator for iOS devices, informing users when their microphones are in use. This feature assures users that Meta AI will no longer listen to their queries once the conversation is terminated, thereby enhancing user trust and security.
In addition to real-time voice conversations, WhatsApp is working on features that allow users to manage Meta AI’s voice interactions. These features include turning on captions and transcripts, converting speech to text during voice conversations. This functionality is designed to enhance accessibility and provide users with a visual reference of their interactions, making the AI experience more inclusive.
Moreover, WhatsApp will offer two response modes: Full and Brief. The Full mode will generate detailed and comprehensive answers, ideal for complex queries or when detailed information is needed. Conversely, the Brief mode will provide concise and to-the-point answers, catering to users who prefer quick responses without lengthy explanations.
These developments promise to make AI conversations on WhatsApp more accessible, dynamic, and personalised, significantly improving the overall user experience
