The playground of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri transformed into an exciting arena as the middle school students competed with each other in the inter-house Kho Kho matches. While Nanak House dominated the competition in the “Boys” section and took home the coveted title, the Vivekananda House emerged victorious in the “Girls” category, capping off the event filled with high energy and close contests.
The Nanak House boys fought their way through a gruelling schedule of tightly contested rounds and took first place, while Vivekananda House closely trailed them at the second position, followed by Gautam House at third. The games were characterised by impressive athleticism and strategy, and players showed excellent reflexes and sharp dodges.
In the girls’ category, Vivekananda House put up a stellar performance throughout the tournament and bagged the championship, finishing above Kabir House (second) and Nanak House (third) respectively.
The matches drew an overwhelming response from the crowds, who lent their voices to cheer every participant. But, beyond just the games and the winners, it was a great effort on the part of all four houses – Vivekananda, Nanak, Kabir and Gautam, for their consistent participation. The synchronised effort with all four houses playing out to perfection set a different tone for the games. It was less about winning and more about proving that discipline and teamwork were just as important. The sound of the steady rhythm of the games and the excited roar of the audience brought about a unique experience that no player, nor spectator, would forget in a long time.

It was this spirit that the School Principal Dr Vineet Vashistha pointed out in his remarks. “I am delighted to witness the enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed by our students during the Inter-House Kho-Kho Matches. Such events play a vital role in nurturing physical fitness, teamwork, and leadership skills among students. I congratulate Nanak and Vivekananda Houses for their commendable victories in the boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively. Every participant deserves appreciation for their dedication and spirit. Let us continue to promote sports as an integral part of holistic education.”
The scoreboard told one story at the conclusion of the contest, but the main story showed sport to be as much a character-building exercise as it is an athletic one.
