Teenage years are a whirlwind of emotions, expectations, and experiences — and Class X-A of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, proved they aren’t afraid to talk about it. In a special session titled We Are Affected By It, the students engaged in a meaningful group discussion with the School Counsellor, Ms Ria Sharma, opening up about the realities of growing up in today’s fast-paced world.
The session provided a safe and supportive space for students to voice their thoughts on a range of issues — from academic pressure, time management, and friendship dynamics to the growing impact of social media and self-image concerns. What stood out was the honesty and empathy with which the students shared their stories. Many expressed that it felt relieving to know their struggles weren’t isolated — that their classmates, too, faced similar challenges.
Ms Sharma guided the conversation with warmth and understanding, helping the students explore healthy coping strategies, the importance of balance, and ways to communicate their emotions effectively. Through open dialogue, laughter, and moments of reflection, the discussion turned into a shared experience of growth and connection.
By the end of the session, the room was filled with a renewed sense of trust and comfort. The students realised that acknowledging their feelings is not a sign of weakness, but a step toward resilience and self-awareness.
Sometimes, all we need is a space to talk and someone who listens. The session reminded everyone that while teenage life can be overwhelming, open conversations and mutual support can make all the difference.
Class X-A’s willingness to speak up truly showed that when young minds are heard, they not only heal — they inspire.
