Arpana is a Computer Science student at Apeejay Stya University with a keen interest in technology, continuous learning and extracurricular activities. Her journey at the University has helped her evolve into a more confident and independent individual while strengthening her communication, teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills. Through academics, projects and campus activities, she has explored her interests, embraced new challenges and gained greater clarity about her aspirations and future.

How would you describe your journey at Apeejay Stya University?

My journey at Apeejay Stya University has been really good and full of learning. Apart from academics, the university gives students a lot of opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities and explore their interests. The faculty and mentors are also very supportive which has made my overall experience quite positive.

How are you different today compared to your first day on campus? What skills did you learn ?

When I first joined, I was much less confident and was still figuring out what I wanted to explore. Today, I feel more confident and independent. I’ve developed skills like communication, teamwork, time management and problem-solving mainly through academics, projects and participating in different activities.

How is the curriculum preparing you for the professional world?

The curriculum gives us both theoretical knowledge and opportunities to apply what we learn through projects and practical activities. It encourages us to think beyond textbooks and develop problem-solving and technical skills, which I believe are important for the professional world.

How has this university contributed to your dreams and ambitions?

The university has given me a platform to explore my interests and work towards my goals. The support from faculty and mentors along with the opportunities to participate in different activities and projects  has helped me to understand my strengths and become more confident about my future.

What is your favourite moment of being in college everyday?

For me, it’s the everyday interaction with my friends and classmates. Even small moments like discussing projects, working together, attending events, or simply spending time on campus become memorable. I think these everyday experiences are what make college life special.

What advice would you give to incoming students?

My advice would be: don’t limit yourself to academics. Take part in activities, try new things, interact with people and don’t be afraid of making mistakes. College is a great time to explore yourself so make the most of every opportunity you get.

Did stepping out of your comfort zone help you discover something new about yourself?

Definitely. Whenever I stepped out of my comfort zone and participated in activities or took up responsibilities, I discovered that I could do much more than I initially thought. It helped me become more confident, take initiative and understand that growth often happens when you try something new.
