To My Friends, Teachers, and Guides – On Friendship Day: A Friend Like Krishna
Published
8 months agoon

As I sit down to write this, I realize something — the heart often knows what it wants to say, but the words fall short.

Today, on Friendship Day, I want to share a thought with you… about friendship that is unspoken, yet always present.
We all long for that one friend — the way Krishna was to Sudama. A bond where one doesn’t need to ask, and the other doesn’t need to explain. A friendship that holds space for silence, for growing apart, knowing a part is with that friend forever.
Sudama had nothing, not even words or gifts. But Krishna only saw his heart. That’s what I wish for all — that you find friendships that see you beyond your face, your marks, your clothes, or your mood.
Friends who’ll remind you of your worth when you forget. And may you also be that friend — kind, honest, and forever present.
True friendship is rare. It’s not always fun or full of laughter. Sometimes, it’s just being quietly there when the world walks away. Sometimes, it’s letting someone go while still blessing them in your heart.
I know we find many people in life. But not all will stay. And that’s okay. Because one or two will — and they will hold your truth like a moon amongst the stars.
My friends, may our friendships be soulful.
May they teach us to heal, help you, break you open, and build you up again.
I will end this with a quote my mom wrote —
“Be the kind of presence that feels like home — gentle, quiet, and never cold.”
