The family we choose!

Published

on

It is said that every human has two families—one that they are born into, and another that they choose for themselves along the way. Friendship is the name of this other family. “Chosen family” is the phrase that truly describes it.

Every human chooses their friends just like a strawberry is picked by hand from the fields—with immense care and delicacy. A found family is one of the best treasures a person can have. Friendships are like a lighthouse, guiding a ship safely to the harbour even through the fiercest storms of the sea.

Friendship Day is not just a day to celebrate your friends; it is a day to remind us of their true value—friends who make every laughter louder, every smile brighter, and every sorrow a little lighter. Friends are truly a gift from God, because He knew that only with friends could a person’s life be whole; without them, life becomes dull and gloomy.

Friends are the biggest supporters of a person. It doesn’t matter to them how small an achievement might be; it only matters that they get to support their friend. Each person is destined to be someone’s best friend, and sometimes, in that way, we meet some broken matches that fit imperfectly and are called “bad friends.”

But there are no bad friends in this world; they are just people who are bad matches for each other. Calling a person a bad friend is like calling a puzzle piece broken when it’s just placed in the wrong spot.

“In the book of life, my friends are my most cherished chapter.” Not all days of friendship look alike. Some days are bright and full of adventure, while others feel as long as a year. Yet in the end, it is always true friends who help you rise, no matter how broken you are, because they teach you how to trust, how to love, and how to be strong.

So this Friendship Day, here’s to the people who never make us feel like a burden and become the light in our darkest days.
