Manmeet Kaur is a homemaker and the mother of Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld student Ryanvir Singh. She has previously taught as a Kindergarten teacher at the school herself. At present she is embarking on her entrepreneurial journey as a baker. In a short interview, Mrs Kaur mentions how Apeejay educational institutions instill confidence in a child and Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld values each and every child in the class. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar over other schools for your child’s admission?

I am an Apeejayite myself and I come from an Apeejay family. So, I wanted my child to be an Apeejayite as well. The confidence Apeejay institutions instill in a student, no other students can get that confidence anywhere else that easily. The confidence my college (Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar) gave me was very nice. It shaped me as a person.  Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar is near my home. It is hardly five minutes away actually. Therefore I can drop and pick Ryanvir very easily. It is very convenient.  Also all the teachers at the school are very nice and cooperative. The current Principal, Ms Nidhi Chhabra, is also very close to me.

Please tell us a bit about Ryanvir and take us through his progress at school?

He is doing well at school. In the online classes, he got a bit disheartened. But now that the schools have reopened he is again very cheerful. His favourite subject is Mathematics. He likes to do the Maths sums the most. He is an active child. He creates various things such as a house or a dinosaur with blocks. He is slightly shy with outsiders but interactive with parents and friends. He is a very intelligent boy.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

They are teaching really well. In the online classes we as parents could see what our child was being taught. The kids are too small, so we had to attend the classes to assist them. The way the teachers were teaching was really wonderful. We as parents and the student were both equally able to understand and grasp the concepts. The students were giving their 100% attention in class.

Ritu mam, the class teacher, is a very good teacher. She is always a call/text away in case of any query. When I was expecting my second child, she supported me so much and gave special attention to Ryanvir.

What is the best thing about the school?

The teachers give a lot of individual attention to the students. My cousins, nephews, nieces are all in different schools. The teachers there leave behind a cranky child and move ahead to teach the rest of the class.  But in Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, the teachers first attend to a cranky child and then take the entire class along. I say this out of my experience as a teacher at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld.

How has the experience of the online class been for Ryanvir?

It has been a good experience overall. It has been great  both in the lower kindergarten and upper kindergarten years. I am very satisfied as a parent.
