Saluting the saviours on Delhi Police Raising Day

Students of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park showcase their talent through a poster-making competition.

Delhi Police have always been at the forefront of maintaining law and order while ensuring the safety of citizens. 16th February holds a special significance for the police force as it marks the ‘Raising Day’ of Delhi Police.

To mark this special occasion, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park organised a poster making competition on the school premises, wherein students displayed their creative and artistic skills by making vibrant posters on the theme ‘Police: Our Saviour’.

The event was graced by the presence of dedicated police personnel including Mr. Harish Chandra ACP, Hauz Khas; Mr. Deepak Saini, SHO, Malviya Nagar Police Station; Mr. Subodh Kumar, SHO Saket Police Station and various other dignitaries.

In his address, Mr Harish Chandra applauded the efforts put in by students for the competition and apprised them about various measures taken by the police to ensure the well-being of citizens including setting up of women’s cells.

Mr Sandeep Singh Kathuria, Principal of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, encouraged students to acknowledge the pivotal role played by our dedicated police force in ensuring safety.

In the end results were declared in which Aliza Ismail of 8 A and Anvesha Verma of 8 C bagged the first position. Meanwhile, Gurnaaz and Akshita Niranjan of 7 B and Aditi Chauhan of 8 C got the second prize.

At the same time, Khushi Bhakuni of 8 A and Sunakshi and Yuvika Chaudhary of 8 B bagged the third position.

On winning first prize, Aliza Ismail said, “I wanted to express my idea through the artwork. This time I was very confident that I would win the competition.”

Anvesha Verma expressed, “On winning first prize for poster making competition, I received the prize money. I want to thank the organisers of this event for giving us this opportunity to learn new things.”

Meanwhile, Akshita Niranjan said, “The competition was an exciting and motivating event. I had some enjoyable drawing time and much to my surprise, came second.”

Aditi Chauhan said, “I felt very honoured to receive second prize in the painting competition. I always feel thankful towards our police as they save, serve and work 24X7 for our society.”

The remarkable event culminated with the prize distribution to the deserving winners. Refreshments were distributed to the students towards the end of the event.
