She has also pursued an internship as a product designer and animation artist with Vegelite Foods and Beverages LLP in Bangalore. In an interview, she explains how various internships helped her in enhancing her design skills and more. Edited excerpts:
1:Internships provide exposure to the real world
In today’s job market only passing exams with good scores and earning a degree doesn’t offer you work experience. A fresher is expected to succeed in a workspace. Through internship, one gains real-life exposure and first-hand experience of a workplace. You can grow your knowledge and identify if you are in the right career field. Moreover, you are also trained to apply the knowledge you have acquired during an internship in your future workplaces. Internships accelerate your learning curve.
2:Helps you learn the art of professional communication
Working in a professional setting for the first time can be difficult to get used to. But it is the best way to learn how to navigate the working world through real-life, hands-on experience.
One of the most valuable skills to learn during an internship is the ability to speak with people in a professional setting. Discussions with bosses, mentors as well as team members give you an in-depth idea of the appropriate way to behave as a professional. Internships make you more confident.
3:Always work hard
Hard work always pays off. It also helps you build a good work ethic.
4: You can make new connections
Internships help you establish new connections and those may turn out to be helpful in your professional journey. Senior employees, mentors, clients, fellow interns, and so on can provide guidance, advice and help you in future job searches. You must also offer to help them whenever you can.
