On Mother’s Day, Apeejay School, Pitampura, observed the day through a series of student-led creative activities, designed to help children reflect on the role of mothers in their lives. The initiative brought together students across age groups, with each segment participating in age-appropriate expressions of gratitude and affection.
The activities were organised in collaboration with Hindustan Times HT PACE and NPS Vatsalya and focused on building emotional awareness alongside creativity. Students were encouraged to translate personal feelings into tangible expressions, making the celebration both reflective and participatory.
Card-making activity for Classes IV to VI
On May 8, 2026, students of Classes IV, V and VI took part in a structured card-making activity. The exercise aimed to highlight the emotional bond between mothers and children while also encouraging thoughtful expression through art and writing.

Classrooms reflected a quiet sense of engagement as students designed greeting cards using colours, patterns and handwritten messages. Each card carried a personal note, allowing students to articulate feelings that are often left unspoken. As part of the initiative, students were also guided to upload a selfie with their completed cards by scanning a QR code, extending the activity beyond the classroom.

The process helped students slow down and reflect, turning a simple craft activity into a moment of emotional connection.
Little hands create meaningful Mother’s Day keepsakes
Meanwhile, the younger students approached the celebration through hands-on craft activities that focused on simple yet meaningful gestures. Nursery and KG children created bracelets, greeting cards and decorative crafts featuring their mothers’ pictures.
The classrooms were filled with activity as children worked with basic materials to assemble their creations. Teachers guided them through each step, ensuring that the focus remained on participation and joy rather than perfection.

The experience allowed young learners to associate celebration with effort and intention, even at an early stage. By engaging students across age groups in thoughtful activities, the school created a space where expression, creativity and emotional awareness came together.
