Placed at ICICI Bank as a Relationship Manager, Priyanshu credits Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka, for equipping him with the right tools—from resume building to mastering interviews. In this continuation of his candid conversation, he shares insights into the campus placement process, his job responsibilities, and heartfelt advice for juniors looking to step confidently into the corporate world. Read edited excerpts:

Did ASM prepare you well for campus placements—like resume writing, interview training, and workshops?

Yes sir, absolutely. ASM gave us everything we needed—from the knowledge required for interviews to the soft skills needed to crack them. We had sessions on interview etiquette, speaking skills, and resume-building workshops that really helped us.

Tell us about the ICICI Bank campus placement process. How did it go for you?

Initially, ICICI Bank had come for internships, but I wasn’t selected—probably due to a few gaps in my resume. But by the time final placements came around, I was better prepared. We were told clearly what the bank expected in terms of resume and interview preparation. After about 2-3 months, my resume was shortlisted, and I was called for the campus drive.

And what did the final selection process involve?

The bank began with a session introducing their work culture, salary structure, growth opportunities, and job profile. Then came the personal interview, which lasted around 20–25 minutes. I gave it my best—and was selected!

Congratulations! So what exactly will your role as a Relationship Manager involve?

Thank you! As a Relationship Manager, I will handle a fixed set of clients—mainly those who operate current accounts and are business professionals. My job will be to solve their banking queries, assist with loans, manage account-related issues, and ensure smooth service delivery.

What advice would you offer to current students at ASM?

I’d tell them to work on their interview skills. I’ve noticed many students hesitate to even speak to teachers confidently, especially in English. My advice? Don’t be afraid. Speak up, be confident—that’s the key to success in the professional world.

That’s a great message. Where do you see yourself in the coming years?

I plan to work at ICICI Bank for the next 4–5 years to gain solid experience. After that, I may explore international opportunities and move abroad to pursue new challenges in the banking sector.
