Today’s learners in India have embraced technology like never before, integrating it into every aspect of their lives. It is true that technology has revolutionised the learning experience within schools, injecting a new found sense of enjoyment and exhilaration. The integration of trending technologies has captivated students, providing valuable avenues for learning, collaboration, and creativity. It has also transformed the learning process into an enjoyable adventure for students.

As technology advances and digital learning gains prominence, classrooms have been remodeled and redefined to cater to this evolving need of modern-day learners. In line with this transformation, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri recently organised an Inter House Digital Poster Making Competition on Canva.

The competition aimed to provide students with a platform to showcase their creativity and raise awareness about an important issue, ‘Pollution: How to tackle it’. A total of 22 participants from all four houses, ranging from classes 8 to 12, took part in this competition.

Canva, a popular online graphic design platform, served as the medium for designing the posters. Just like a printed poster, a digital poster is a visual aid that helps to share views, but with the added advantage of including dynamic content. The participants utilised Canva’s features to create eye-catching and informative posters.

The digital posters displayed by the students were commendable. They presented the topic of pollution and its solutions in a clear and concise manner. The content was easy to understand, and the layout was appealing, making the posters well-organised and constructed. The minimal text used in the posters allowed for easy comprehension, making them an ideal choice for spreading awareness about pollution and its mitigation.

The judging process proved challenging due to the high quality of the entries. Mr. Kuldeep Singh (PGT English) and Mr. Satvir Singh (Fine Arts) evaluated the competition, while Mr. Sandeep Kumar (PGT Computer Science) supervised the event.

After careful consideration, the results of the competition were announced. Rupam Goyal, a student from class 8, bagged the first position. Jatin Kumar, also from class 8, earned the second place, while Happy from class 8 and Namish Mittal from class 12 shared the third position.

While appreciating the participants, Rudrendra Basak, Principal of Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri expressed, “It is widely acknowledged that digital posters serve as a visually captivating medium, capable of swiftly grabbing the attention of a target audience, effectively conveying crucial information, and leaving a lasting impression. They have consistently proven to be highly efficient in advertising and promoting products, services, and events. I would like to express my appreciation to all the students who participated in the competition. The posters created by our talented students have successfully conveyed the intended message and covered the given topic admirably. I anticipate even more impressive presentations in the future. Once again, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the participants and the deserving winners of this competition.”

The Inter House Poster Making Competition on Canva proved to be a successful event, showcasing the artistic talents and technological skills of the students. It fostered creativity, collaboration, and awareness about pollution among the students.
