When graphic design students visit an industrial setting, they gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in design production, workflow management, and design application. Such visits provide them with the opportunity to learn about the design process and its application in real-world scenarios, preparing them for future careers in the industry.

This is why Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) recently organised a field visit for graphic design students to Nice Packaging, a unit of packaging at Jhilmil Industrial Area, Dilshad Garden, Delhi. Nice Packaging is an enterprise which provides design solutions for packaging to a wide array of industries with hi-tech machinery to make work fast, easy and precise. It has in-house production for all categories of packaging like cake boxes, trunk boxes, plastic jars, glass jars, hampers, trays, gifting packs, small gift packs, muffin boxes, etc.

Their various ways of functioning and hierarchy system gave students a clear insight of how to make best customisation and deliver maximum satisfaction. Students saw the entire process of packaging and machines that are being used to make different types of packaging with different materials. They saw types of various interlocking systems of packaging and cutting methods such as laser cutting and die cutting. Further, students were taught the printing process on paper for final packaging.
