Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar celebrates Janmashtami with special assembly

Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, celebrated Janmashtami with great enthusiasm as a special assembly was organised on the school campus. Marking the birth of Lord Krishna, the School held a series of devotional and cultural performances by students across age groups.

The celebration opened with a soulful speech that set the tone for the morning, followed by a melodious poem that reflected on the significance of the festival and the divine charm associated with Lord Krishna’s life and teachings. Adding to the devotional atmosphere, students of Classes 4-5and 7-8 performed bhajans, filling the assembly with soulful renditions that resonated with faith and reverence.

Younger students also played a central role in the celebrations. Students of Class 3 presented a captivating play-cum-dance performance. They brought scenes and stories associated with Lord Krishna’s life to the stage through an engaging blend of drama and movement. Meanwhile, students of Classes 1 and 2 delighted the audience with an enchanting dance performance, adding youthful energy and festive charm to the proceedings.

Each performance was crafted to reflect a different facet of the Janmashtami celebration — from quiet devotion expressed through bhajans and poetry, to lively expression through dance and drama. The assembly, through its many elements, sought to convey the timeless values that Lord Krishna’s life continues to represent: love, compassion, righteousness, and unwavering faith.

The event brought together students from across the primary and middle sections of the school, reflecting a shared sense of community and collective celebration. Teachers and staff members also extended their support in ensuring the smooth conduct of the assembly.
