The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to close the online registration window for the September 2026 edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) today, September 1. Eligible candidates who could not complete their applications during the original registration period can submit their forms through the official CTET website.

The application window was reopened on August 25 following requests from candidates who had missed the earlier deadline. The initial registration period for CTET 2026 was held from May 11 to June 10. Candidates who had already successfully submitted their applications during the first phase are not required to register again.

Meanwhile, CBSE has postponed the CTET September 2026 exam. The test was earlier scheduled for September 6, but the board has not yet announced the revised exam date. According to the latest updates, the new schedule is expected to be announced after the registration window closes. Candidates have been advised to regularly monitor the official CTET portal for further announcements.

The CTET is conducted to assess candidates seeking eligibility for teaching Classes I to VIII, subject to applicable recruitment rules. The exam comprises two papers, with candidates eligible to appear for either one or both depending on the classes they intend to teach.

For the September 2026 session, candidates belonging to the General and OBC-NCL categories are required to pay Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,200 for both papers. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, the fee is Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for both papers.

Candidates applying on the final day should complete the form, upload the required documents, pay the applicable fee and submit the application before the deadline. They should also download and preserve the confirmation page for future reference.
