Recently, Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, organised an interactive workshop on innovative pedagogy, with a focus on making classroom teaching more thoughtful, creative, and aligned with the needs of young learners. The session was led by the school Principal, Capt Praveen Roy, and drew attention to the role of teachers in shaping meaningful learning experiences inside the classroom.

The workshop was held in the context of the National Education Policy 2020, which places strong emphasis on learning that goes beyond rote understanding. Teachers worked on framing expected learning outcomes across different levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. This gave the session a clear academic purpose, as it encouraged educators to think about how children understand, apply, analyse, and create knowledge.

What made the workshop relevant was its focus on classroom practice. Pedagogy is not only about lesson planning. It is also about how a teacher reads the room, responds to students, and chooses methods that make learning active. Through the session, teachers reflected on ways to make lessons more engaging without losing academic depth.

The school In-charge, Ms Gunjan Sharma, along with resource persons Ms Archana Khanna and Ms Kusum Dhamija, shared creative and joyful strategies that teachers could use in their classrooms. Their inputs helped place innovation in a practical setting, where ideas could be connected with everyday teaching.

The workshop also underlined the need for educators to keep learning. As classrooms change, teachers have to look again at their methods, their questions, and their expectations for students. This kind of professional reflection helps schools build a culture where learning remains active for both students and teachers.

The session became a step towards strengthening 21st-century learning through thoughtful teaching practices. By encouraging teachers to inspire, innovate, and evolve, the workshop reinforced the school’s effort to create classrooms where students learn with clarity, curiosity, and confidence.
