Parents strive to provide the best for their children, not just in comforts, but especially in education. Finding a school that reflects their values and aspirations is often a thoughtful, demanding process. They invest time, energy, and research to ensure their child receives a nurturing environment that supports both academic success and personal growth.
For parents like Jyoti and her husband, choosing Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, first for their daughter Siya (now Class II) and Viraj (now in nursery), was solely based on its strong academic reputation and its commitment to offering a well-rounded education. ”It’s not just about studies —there’s a strong focus on extracurricular activities too. Also, my niece studies here, so I was already familiar with the environment,” Jyoti shared.
In an impromptu interview, she talked about positive changes in both her children, among other things.
What stood out to you when you first visited the campus?
The infrastructure impressed me, as did the overall school environment. But the most remarkable part was the teachers. They are wonderful — very supportive and approachable.
How has Siya’s development been over the past two to three years?
She was very shy in the beginning — so shy she couldn’t even speak confidently or look others in the eye. But over time, I’ve seen remarkable changes in her. Now, she speaks with confidence. A lot of the credit goes to teachers here. They have been exceptional and put in tremendous effort with both my children. I share a personal connection with them, as they have taught both Siya and my younger son.
Have you observed any changes in Viraj?
A: Absolutely. He used to be hesitant to speak in public, but now he confidently participates in school activities and even stage performances. Initially, I was a little worried because he’s quite mischievous — not like Siya at all. I shared my concerns with the teachers, and they were understanding. Despite his naughty nature, they never gave me any negative feedback. Instead, they told me that he now sits in class with a very positive attitude and even finishes his lunch box!
What are Siya’s interests and unique talents? And what about your son?
She has a natural flair for speaking. Now she loves public speaking and drama, skating, and enthusiastically participates in school events. She comes to me and proudly says, “Now I can do it!” He’s still in the learning and improving stage. But I can already see positive changes in him.
What values have your children learnt at school?
The values taught at Apeejay School are truly commendable. The teachers play a big role — they understand each child deeply and connect with them on their level. My children have learnt respect, how to speak properly to others, and a lot of other positive habits. These are things we struggled to instil at home, especially with Viraj, but the school has helped tremendously.
How do you feel the school balances academics with extracurricular activities?
That’s something I genuinely appreciate. In many schools, when there’s an event, like Annual Day, academics take a backseat. But at this school, that’s not the case. The school maintains a perfect balance. That was one of my main concerns when choosing a school, and Apeejay has exceeded my expectations.
How involved are you in your children’s education? Does the school keep you engaged?
Yes, the school is very proactive in keeping us informed. Communication is always on time. If there’s anything new — whether it’s academic or an activity — we get to know immediately, and that keeps us involved and aware.
