Choosing the right school is a pivotal decision that lays the foundation for a child’s future success and fulfilment. Ultimately, the journey of school selection is not just about finding the right institution but about charting a course for educational success and personal growth that will shape a child’s life for years to come. “I am glad that I found Apeejay for my child,” shares Rajesh O Sharma whose daughter Preksha studies in class XI at Apeejay School, Nerul.

Excerpts from the interview

Is there ever pressure or tension regarding studies at home?

My daughter doesn’t believe in taking any undue pressure regarding studies. The best quality she has is that she systematically plans all her lessons so well and keeps enough surplus time in hand for revision.

How are the teachers here?

The whole staff is extremely wonderful. I recall an incident during my daughter’s Board exams, the teachers were especially present to wish every student. It was such a pleasant sight to watch teachers being there to acknowledge every effort put by the students and also to ease their tension and stress.

What co-curricular activities does Preksha enjoy at school?

She regularly participates in dance events and competitions at the school. Her niche style of dancing is freestyle western and folk. She has even won several prizes in different events at school.

Do you agree with the adage – that school is the second home for a child?

Obviously yes! The school environment is so comfortable for my daughter that she has already made school her second home. The kind of culture Apeejay cultivates in students and the ethos this institute believes in, has really influenced her positively.

Define your parenting style.

I believe in giving her freedom and guiding about her strengths and finding ways to work on her shortcomings. I want to teach her how to get up and work out things during crises or problems. I want my child to believe in herself.

How has school positively developed your child over these years?

I recall the day when Preksha was in nursery and today she is in class XI. This 16-year-old’s journey has been a great learning experience. I have seen my child imbibing qualities like being responsible, comfortable in public speaking abilities. Overall, I can see my daughter growing into a better human being.

Why did you select Apeejay as an admission choice?

We had certain ideas in our mind before selecting the right school for our child like it should have an Indian culture and the ideal teacher student relationship style. Considering all these personal experiences we zeroed down on Apeejay.
