There is no school as good as Apeejay in Charkhi Dadri, believes Seema Garg, whose daughter Chansi is a nursery student at the school. From the constant support of the faculty to the safety provided to the students, the mother says she is satisfied with every aspect. In an interview, she talks about how the school has boosted her child’s confidence. Edited excerpts:

What made you choose Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, for your daughter?

I had seen the positive impact of Apeejay Charkhi Dadri first-hand—Chansi’s cousin is an alumnus of the school while there are many other kids in the vicinity who are enrolled in the school. That is how we chose the school for our daughter.

What did you make of the school’s infrastructure on your first visit?

Since Chansi’s cousin studied in the school earlier, we were already familiar with the faculty and the facilities available. The first thing that draws attention when you step inside the school is their beautiful science-themed garden, which is a really unique concept. We had also heard positive feedback about the interactive teaching methodologies.

Your daughter has started going to school physically. Does she like it?

My daughter loves going to school. She has made many friends and loves to interact with her teachers, who always listen to students patiently. They understand children and their concerns so well. Every student is given individual attention. The teachers are not just their friends but also take care of the children like their parents.

Does Chansi take an active interest in school activities?

Each student gets the opportunity to participate in class activities. Chansi is no longer afraid of the stage; she can perform confidently. Now she also participates in local and district-level programmes outside school. It is the teachers who are her biggest source of motivation.

How supportive is the faculty?

Quite supportive. For instance, when online classes started, parents were quite anxious about this new form of learning. To tackle the problem, the school principal Rudrendra Basak organised a special session for us to address our concerns and guide us. They listened to all my problems and gave me solutions to handle my child during online classes.

Offline classes have resumed now, but we are still able to contact the class teacher to seek help in case of any doubt. They are available for us even after school hours. They are very cooperative.

How well does the school take care of the safety and security of children?

The school has taken adequate measures to ensure children’s safety. At the school gate itself, there is a teacher along with the guard to escort the students into the class. Even in the class, there is an assistant apart from the teacher and together they take care of the students, right from making them sit at their respective desks to ensuring they eat lunch, and so on. We are very happy with the school and its environment.
