Student with Apeejay Institute of Management and Technology (AIMETC) in Jalandhar, Nandini Sharma is fond of reading and writing. In addition, her hobbies also include singing, dancing and travelling. In her writing journey, the Apeejay student has recently written an article – Meditation: Mantra for peace of mind, in which she emphasies on practicing meditation everyday. She suggests meditation helps in increasing focus, attention, while improving one’s mental health. Read edited excerpts: 

Why did you pick to write on this topic?

Mental health is an important part of our well-being. It impacts our thoughts, behaviours and emotions. So, taking care of our mental health is imperative. I like to help out those who are dealing with mental health issues. Thus, through this article I wished to encourage all to focus on their mental well-being.  I practice meditation regularly because it helps me feel calm, manage stress, and as a result, I get a better sleep. 

How do you encourage your dear ones to practice meditation? 

As I already mentioned, meditation helps me to stay calm and feel fresh. So, I usually share my own experience with them to motivate them.

When did you start your writing journey? 

I have started writing recently. In fact, Meditation: Mantra for peace of mind – this is my first article.  Few months ago, I was dealing with stress as I used to overthink and due to which I also felt very depressed. Meditation helped me to overcome this problem.

What are your learnings from your writing journey? 

I randomly started writing which made me feel peaceful and this is becoming my passion now

Steps do you take to improve your writing skills? 

I read a lot of articles as it helps me come across new ideas.

What does writing mean to you? 

It makes me feel free. Whenever I have something to write, I express my feelings through words.

What kind of books interest you? Last book you read?

Spiritual and motivational books are my type, and recently I read Kundalini: An untold story by Om Swami.
