Apeejay School, Pitampura, celebrates Janmashtami with special assembly
Students brought alive scenes from Lord Krishna’s childhood through prayer, presentations, plays and dance.
Students of Class IV C at Apeejay School, Pitampura, conducted a special assembly to mark the occasion of Janmashtami. The school celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna through a series of devotional and cultural performances. The assembly opened with a prayer that set a spiritual and reflective tone for the proceedings, followed by anchoring and the thought of the day.
Continuing with the school’s regular assembly format, the students then presented the news bulletin, keeping their peers updated on current happenings, before the celebration moved into its central theme.
The highlight of the morning was an engaging presentation on the life and teachings of Lord Krishna, offering students an opportunity to learn about his philosophy and the values he stood for, including truth, love, and righteousness. This was followed by a specially curated play that brought to life memorable scenes from Krishna’s childhood. Young students dressed as Krishna and Radha captivated the audience with their endearing performances, recreating beloved moments from Hindu mythology with sincerity and charm.
Adding to the devotional atmosphere, students performed a melodious bhajan that resonated through the assembly hall, evoking a sense of faith and reverence among those present. The celebration concluded with a vibrant dance performance, through which students expressed the joy and festivity associated with Janmashtami, bringing an energetic close to the morning’s programme.
Through their heartfelt performances, the students of Class IV C successfully captured the essence of the festival, blending devotion with cultural expression. The assembly aimed not merely to mark a religious occasion, but to instil in young minds the timeless values that Lord Krishna’s life represents: Compassion, righteousness, and unconditional love.
As the school noted in its message accompanying the celebration, “Krishna’s teachings light the path of righteousness, and his birth is a celebration of divine love and joy.” The sentiment echoed throughout the assembly, as students, teachers, and staff came together to honour a festival that holds deep cultural and spiritual significance across the country.
