As students complete their journey through the IB Primary Years Programme at Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, they step into a new chapter with confidence. Through inquiry, reflection, and collaboration, they have grown into thoughtful and skilled learners.
Meet Rajnandini Dubey, who has recently graduated and gone into MYP-1. In an impromptu interview, she shares her PYP journey.
Which learner profile attribute do you think you developed the most in PYP-5?
I am a researcher, a communicator, and a thinker. I enjoy sharing knowledge with others, expressing my ideas clearly, and thinking deeply before making decisions.
How has your school helped you become a better researcher, communicator, or thinker?

It has helped me discover my strengths, develop new skills, and build confidence. Through classroom activities, projects, and exhibitions, I have learnt how to work in teams, solve problems, and express my thoughts effectively.
What skill have you improved the most?
The skill I have improved the most is communication. At the beginning of the year, I was nervous about speaking in front of others. But with practice and encouragement from my teachers, I now feel confident sharing my ideas during class discussions and presentations.
What topic did you choose for your exhibition and why?
For my exhibition, I chose the topic of cognitive thinking. I selected this topic because I was curious about how the brain works and wanted to learn ways to keep it healthy and active. By researching and presenting on this subject, I was able to deepen my understanding.
How did your exhibition topic help you in your personal life?
My exhibition topic helped me make positive changes in my daily life. I realised that spending too much time on my phone was affecting my focus and thinking ability. As a result, I started reducing my screen time. These habits have made me feel more alert, motivated, and mentally strong.
How did the unit change your thinking?
I wanted to develop skills that would help me not just in school, but in everyday life. Through this programme, I discovered how exciting it is to ask questions, do research, and find answers by myself or with my peers.
Which transdisciplinary theme do you connect with most, and why?
The central idea I connected with the most was “Sharing the planet.” This idea made me realise how important it is to live responsibly and care for the environment. I learnt that every action we take affects the Earth. I became more aware of my responsibilities and began making small changes, like conserving resources and spreading awareness among my friends.
