The transition from primary to secondary is always exciting for the kids as they enter into a new phase in their lives. During this phase, they get to experience lots of things like developing new friendships, maintaining self-confidence, new curriculum, new routines and continuity in learning and much more. However, there may also be some downfalls, which may slip their confidence in a minute. That’s when they require motivation from their parents and teachers.
Therefore, to appreciate their hard work and determination, Apeejay School, Nerul recently organised the graduation day for the students of class 5, wherein their parents and grandparents gathered to cherish them.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp by Shri Rakesh Joshi, Regional Director of Academics; Ms Preety Gupta, Vice Principal; Ms Shakuntala Singh, Academic Coordinator; Ms Vijayalekshmi K.C, Primary Coordinator; Ms Mrinalini Singh, Pre-Primary Coordinator and grandparents of the students.
Rakesh Joshi addressed the gathering, appreciated the hard work of the students and inspired them to strive for excellence.
Further, the students mesmerised the audience with a group song ‘Believer’ which was followed by the graduation ceremony, where all the students of each section were invited and honoured by the dignitaries.
Parents were overwhelmed with joy, by witnessing the graduation ceremony. The atmosphere was filled with a flood of feelings as the students conveyed the message on women empowerment through their dance performance.
Ms Sarasi Basu, social studies teacher gave the speech and reminded the children of the lovely years they spent in primary section. She also guided the children to become the better version of themselves.
Later, Mrs Vijayalekshmi K.C. gave the vote of thanks and thanked the management for their support and guidance and all the staff for making this event a success. She said, “Graduation Day in primary class is the beginning of yet another journey of student’s life. Primary section is one of the most important moments in student’s life. The graduation ceremony is a moment of pride for the student as well as the parents who look on with a sense of achievement.”
“It was an absolute pleasure watching them grow, a bitter sweet feeling that the students are leaving and at the same time felt a sense of pride that they are going to middle school. Children had a feeling of excitement and pride. Felt a great sense of achievement while being appreciated and at the same time felt emotional as they were leaving primary,” she added.
The event concluded by guiding the dignitaries and the parents towards the classrooms to have a look at the wonderful work exhibited by the students on the five themes – Universe, Water, Titanic, Forest and Freedom Struggle.
