Prerna Sharma’s son Samit Kaushal and daughter Saanjh are in class I and nursery respectively at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida. Talking about the school curriculum, the mother appreciates how the school has been able to mould its approach depending on circumstances like the pandemic. She tells us about her overall experience with the school in a candid interview:

What made you pick Apeejay International, Greater Noida?

I began looking for good schools after moving to Greater Noida from Noida. I found Apeejay had branches across Delhi-NCR, which was one of the reasons I chose the school in case I had to internally transfer my children. But what really reaffirmed my choice was my first interaction with Nisha ma’am, the school’s pre-primary teacher. The way she connected with my Samit was wonderful. Samit was enrolled in the school soon, although he began with online classes. In class I, he is finally attending offline classes. Later, I got my daughter Saanjh admitted to the school too.

What do you have to say about its infrastructure?

The infrastructure is evolving every day. I am hoping to see the school come up with more and more opportunities and facilities for the students. Now that offline classes have begun, my children have begun participating in various co-curricular activities.

What kind of expertise do Apeejay teachers bring in?

The teachers are very helpful and take special care of the overall development of children. I distinctly remember how Nisha ma’am took complete charge of my son’s assignments while I was down with Covid. She even gave my son extra classes to help him out.

Despite being in online mode, the teachers made sure to hold children’s attention, guide them through technological aspects and teach them concepts in an engaging way.

Are the teachers using contemporary techniques that are kid-friendly?

The approach in online and offline classes is very different. And according to the circumstances, the teachers have successfully tweaked their approach. In online classes, for instance, students would be explained concepts through audio visual aid or presentations. In the offline classes, they are exposed to hands-on learning whereby my children are able to conduct experiments or perform concept-based activities.

What developments have you seen in your children since the time they joined school?

I have seen the maximum amount of growth in Saanjh. She is extremely energetic, happily participating in various activities, and interacting with her peers. Samit, on the other hand, was somewhat hesitant during online classes but now he is gradually opening up. He has begun exploring activities. That’s how he has shown significant growth too.
