By prioritising a balanced approach to education that incorporates both academic studies and extracurricular activities, schools can nurture well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experiences to thrive in all aspects of life. This made it easy for parents like Shilpa Kewate whose daughter Aanshika studies in class VIII at Apeejay School, Kharghar to choose this school .
Excerpts from the interview
How has Aanshika’s journey at school been so far?
We, as parents, are really satisfied so far with our daughter’s progress. So far whatever strengths and weaknesses we have identified in our child, it has been taken care of really well at the school. Aanshika is now able to outshine in every area.
How are the teachers here?
They are a wonderful lot. They give personal attention to my daughter and work together on her weak areas. She has improved tremendously under her teachers’ guidance and as parents we are elated to see such progress. During PTMs teachers make sure that there is a transparent discussion done around the child’s performance and growth.
What kind of extracurricular activities does Aanshika enjoy here?
The school put lots of effort into extracurricular activities. It’s so nice to see that the school has taken such an initiative towards holistic building of students. My daughter has particularly participated in Mini Shark Tank events and other similar events where she has also won several awards during Inter-school Competitions.
Define your parenting style.
We believe in being a friend to our daughter. Since Aanshika is our only child, we both believe in never pressurising her. She is a very self-aware child and does all things on her own. She is always self-motivated, so we have never faced any tough time nurturing her.
What are your daughter’s dreams and aspirations?
She is still very young; 12years old. So like other children her age, her aspirations keep changing along with her experiences. Sometimes she wants to become a teacher and at other times an IAS officer or an entrepreneur.
Do you think that school is the second home for a child?
My child spends maximum working hours at school, she spends her limited time at home only. The teachers here make their best efforts and work on my child so that she can excel in all the fields.
Why did you select Apeejay for your child?
When we started looking for the best school, we figured out that the teaching and learning ratio at Apeejay is at par. Even infrastructure and facilities wise, this school underscores others in the city.
