Sidhant Bhardwaj with wife Rakhee and daughter Tanishqa
Sidhant Bhardwaj, head-content strategy, Prime Minister’s Office, believes Apeejay’s innovative approach to teaching—including learning activities and audio-visual aid—is an ideal way to teach young kids like his daughter Tanishqa. Now in class 2 at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, Tanishqa has already developed a lot of confidence. Read on to know more about what the father thinks of the school and its ability to mould children:
What were your criteria while picking a school for your daughter? What made you opt for Apeejay International School, Greater Noida?
My primary concern was that my child should not study in a school with an overwhelming class strength where teachers are unable to give students proper attention. My apprehensions were put to rest at Apeejay International School, Greater Noida, which has a good teacher-student ratio. Here, I found that every faculty member was looking after my child; I could reach them directly as well.
What has your daughter’s journey at school been like so far?
We enrolled Tanishqa in the school in kindergarten, after we shifted base to Greater Noida. She started with online classes amid the pandemic. Despite limitations in the virtual mode, she gradually became comfortable with her teachers. The interactive sessions involving activities like storytelling, games, etc, helped my daughter learn very easily.
What do you think of the school curriculum?
The curriculum is perfect and age-appropriate; the fact that my daughter is enjoying the learning process is proof. At the same time, the teachers ensure she clearly understands every topic taught in class. My wife and I randomly ask her questions related to her lessons and she is able to answer them perfectly.
Is experiential learning (learning by doing), followed by Apeejay, helping your daughter?
This is a very creative approach to teaching, and it is benefitting my daughter immensely. More than reading books, she is happy to imbibe knowledge through interesting learning activities.
Has this approach developed in your child a sense of curiosity or eagerness to learn?
Absolutely! Now that offline classes have started, she is all the more eager to attend classes and learn something new every day. We are very happy to see her progress.
Have you noticed any other positive changes?
Dancing is her newfound love, and she is quite enthusiastic about participating in various school events. Her music and dance teachers have been guiding her very well. She has also developed an interest in sports, especially tennis, and her sports teacher constantly motivates her to pursue it. This is true in the case of other teachers as well who give her personal attention, identify her areas of interest, and help align her skills.
We have also noticed a significant improvement in her communication skills and confidence level.
